The village Denysovychi
Denysovychi - an abandoned village, located 30 kilometers north-west of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and 3 kilometers from the state border with the Republic of Belarus.
There is information about the existence of Denisovich village since the 18th century. The village had a wooden Holy Cross Exaltation Church, which was built and consecrated in 1762. At the same time, a bell tower was built with the church.
The church was related to the Polish uprising of 1830-1831. At the same time during the uprisings, the priest of the Holy Cross Exaltation Church - Ananias Paskovsky was captured. The priest was forcibly transported to the Minsk province, and there they kept him in a rebel camp. Ananias urged to swear allegiance to the Polish service, but he refused and was shot.
Until the end of the XIX century, the village of Rudki (a village in the Exclusion Zone) was related to the temple. By the temple worked parochial school. The church was destroyed during the Soviet era.
In the 1860s, about 530 people lived in the village. Residents of the village were engaged mainly in agriculture.
A high school, a club, a library, a shop, a water mill functioned in the village as well as "the Habne" collective farm and forestry.
The population before the Chernobyl accident - 532 people. Residents of the village were resettled in 1993 in the village of Trubovschina in the Yagotinsky district of Kiev region. In the village of Trubovschina, especially for immigrants, a new part of the village was built up. The village of Denisovichi was removed from the register in 1999, due to the lack of residents.
