The village Kamienka
Kamenka - a former village, located 19 kilometers south of the former district center, the city of Chernobyl. It is located among the forests, remote from other settlements.
It appeared at the beginning of the 20th century. One of the first mentions related to the construction of a wooden chapel in the village in 1907. The fact of its appearance and the date of construction is recorded in the directory "Memorable book of the Kiev Diocese" in 1910. The further fate and period of the destruction of the chapel are unknown.
In Soviet times, Kamenka was subordinated to the village council of the village of Opachichi, which was located in the northeast.
The village was not big. Before the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, only 75 people lived in the village, there were 35 courtyards. Residents were resettled in the village of New Opachichi in Makarov district of Kiev region.
Due to the lack of residents, the village was officially deregistered as a settlement in 1999.
